John L Fleming, MD, DLFAPA, Medical Director of Southern Colorado TMS Center, LLC, is a psychiatrist with 36 years experience treating depression and related conditions. Named Distinguished Life Fellow in 2011 by the American Psychiatric Association, he is also a Board Certified Psychiatrist and has been voted by other physicians as one of America‘s Best Doctors annually since 2005. Dr. Fleming is a certified NeuroStar TMS Provider and Provider Trainer.

In his private practice, Dr. Fleming focuses on the psychotherapy and treatment of complex depression and bipolar conditions in adolescents and adults as well as OCD, PTSD, substance abuse and eating disorders. In this work, Dr. Fleming has extensive experience using medications to treat conditions, including those that do not respond to usual therapies. He serves or has served as a consultant and/or speaker for seven of the nations largest pharmaceutical companies and has conducted research and clinical drug trials for new uses of medications for several of them. His practice incorporates the use of both genetic testing and EEG biomarker guidance to select medications and advanced genetic testing and SPECT scanning to determine the presence of atypical depression and other conditions.

In addition to the use of medication and therapy, Dr. Fleming has a particular interest in using effective treatments which avoid the use of medications. Such interventions can be life altering for those whose illness does not respond to medication or where medication use is too filled with problems or risks. In addition to the use of light box therapy and Vagus Nerve Stimulation treatment, he is pleased to be able to offer his patients the use of rTMS through the Southern Colorado TMS Center, LLC.
